Startup Officer, Inc. is a Sales, Marketing, and Corporate Strategy consulting firm located in New York City. The company was founded in July 2009 by Jon Brause.
Startup Officer is an outsourced solution to overcome the everyday hurdles of starting a company or launching a new sales-based initiative. When you are ready to go from athlete to personal training company, transition to a web-based business or build marketing and sales collateral for your hedge fund, Startup Officer will roll up the sleeves to help you plan and achieve your goals. Current clients include Best Gold Redemption, Ultra Light Startups, and LibertyView Capital Management.
The engagement can be a short-term assignment to build a strategic plan or find the best service provider. The partnership may also be longer-term where Startup Office will develop and implement media & marketing campaigns, sales & sponsorship programs, and introduce you to venture capital and angel investors.
Management
Jon Brause is the President and Chief Executive Officer.
His skill set includes over ten years sales, marketing, investor relations, due diligence, and product development expertise in the alternative asset management industry. Prior to launching Startup Officer, he was a Vice President with LibertyView Capital Management (wholly owned by Lehman Brothers until July 2009), a hedge fund in New York.
Jon was hired by LibertyView to develop and distribute a fund of fund product and also create sales & marketing materials for the firm’s various single and multi-strategy hedge funds. When LibertyView was acquired by Neuberger Berman, LLC in late 2002 and subsequently by Lehman Brothers in 2003, he shifted his duties from institutional to private client sales & distribution for the firm’s $2.0 billion proprietary hedge fund. Jon spent a significant amount of time to channel sales, developing marketing materials, writing performance commentary, and implementing a number of investor relations initiatives. In the 9 month post-Lehman bankruptcy period, he dedicated himself to client service, transitioning service providers, and completing other corporate tasks. This effort led to LibertyView spinning out and becoming an independently-owned organization.
Before joining LibertyView, Jon was a research analyst for Tamiso & Company, a currency and commodity trading advisor. He earned a B.A. in International Studies from Dickinson College in 1996 and has passed the NASD Series 3, 7, 63, 66 exams.
